Black people have the highest proportion of lone parents of any ethnic group in the UK — over 51%. A further 31.7% of Black households consist of just one person. The data is clear: there is a large, growing, and largely unmarried single Black demographic in this country.
At the same time, rates of inter-ethnic relationships are rising year on year — a trend that, for the melanated community, comes at a cost to our culture, our identity, and our future. Almost every other community in the world prioritises its own. It's time ours did too.
